About Cờ Gánh
How Cờ Gánh is played
Each player has eight pieces on a 5 × 5 board whose quadrants carry diagonal lines. Pieces move one step along any line. If your move places a piece directly between two enemy pieces on a straight line, both enemies are converted to your colour — the gánh, or 'carrying', move that names the game.
A connected group of enemy pieces that is left with no legal move is surrounded (vây) and converts as well. There are no captures — pieces only change sides — and you win when all sixteen pieces are yours.
